School physicals will be available on site to those who would like to sign up for them ahead of time. The PORTA Jr. High School Cross Country season begins with a parent/athlete meeting on Monday, July 31st. Any 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th-grade boy or girl who is interested in participating in cross country should attend a meeting with at least one parent/guardian on Monday, July 31st at 6:30 PM at the PORTA Jr./Sr. High School.
Congratulations goes out to the A-C Central Bass Fishing Team for qualifying for the Illinois High School’s state tournament. The members of the team are Jon Reed, Jordan Reek and Andrew Gleason. The boys participated in the sectional tourney on Friday May 5 at Sangchris Lake.
The weekend of May 6, 2017 is Prom weekend at A-C Central
Walk-in will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at A-C Central High School in Ashland with coronation in the High School gym at approximately 4:30 PM
Prom will begin at 8:00 PM at Erin’s Pavilion in Springfield. All students and their guests are expected to arrive at Prom no later than 8:30 PM. No one will be admitted to Prom after 8:30 PM.
Prom will conclude at 11:00 PM

On Thursday, April 13, 2017 A-C Central High School and Middle School, in conjunction with county and local law enforcement officials and first responders, will be conducting an Emergency Evacuation Drill beginning at 9:00 AM.
The A-C Central School District is asking all parents to confirm their residency for the 2017-18 school year before August 1. The need to periodically confirm residency is important in order to ensure the appropriate usage of taxpayer money for the school district. Local tax money is intended specifically to educate those students who legally reside within our district boundaries.
